About Alex Miescher

In my previous lives as a pilot, manager, and now consultant, I’ve always had the privilege to travel the world, an undoubtedly enriching experience. However, I always kept my residence in the region of Solothurn, Switzerland. A place of power in the Swiss midlands, where, despite its central location, a soothing feeling of understatement and laid-back attitude pervades. Regular trips all over the world has granted me cultural openness and adaptability; my homeland roots have given me stability and peace.

I have been married to Sibylle Miescher-Jost since 1993 and we have two grown-up children.

From 1991 to 2009, I was a professional military pilot, flight instructor, airbase commander (ranked Colonel of General Staff) and staff officer for the Swiss Air Force, flying PC-7, P-3, Vampires, F-5 Tigers, and F/A-18 Hornets. From 2009 to 2018, I acted as General Secretary of the Swiss Football Association.

My experience as a coach and consultant started to build in the year 2000, initially in a freelance capacity. Since leaving the world of professional football behind in August 2018, this has been my main profession.
